NOTES:
We had our first Home Hub in person meeting with Mirko from Textilborg. It went very well, we made sure we are both on the same page in terms of the kinds of services we want help with and what they can provide. Our interests in experimenting with new production technologies overlap. We plan to meet with them again in October and test the process of working through an example commission with them. Consulting with them on pattern making, materials and production techniques.
Our impression was extremely positive as it feels immediately apparent how much we will be able to draw on them throughout our process of realizing our commissions. We plan not to pass on work to them but rather have them teach us how to do things like pattern-making and textile production techniques ourselves. They also have experience sourcing materials and connections to materials (fabrics, zippers…) manufactured in Europe.
